Poor quality - twice!
I purchased a Fire Pit and was eager to assemble and use it. When it arrived, it was scraped to the bare metal in over 12 places! Being that it was porcelain coated, I know these places will quickly rust. I understand things happen, and was willing to get some touch-up paint from Char-Broil and touch up the areas. The customer service rep was very helpful and friendly, but evidently limited by policy. He informed me that he could only provide me with the touch up paint by selling it to me. Warranty would not allow him to send it, but I could get replacement parts under warranty. The parts were large and heavy. I estimate the replacement parts cost many times more than touch up paint, then add to that shipping. Replacement parts arrived today. Well packaged and wrapped. Surprise! Same condition as the ones there are replacing! At least 10 spots of exposed metal. What a waste of time and money. A few years ago, I worked at Home Depot and sold many Char-Broil grills. I love the infrared grilling system and how it cooks meat. Unfortunately, Char-Broil does not put quality in their products. A good number of grills were returned after a few weeks/months with the lettering wearing off of the face trim. Mine experienced the same situation. Back to the fire pit; it is a shame that a simple request for touch up paint could not have been honored, solving the situation. Order #2750021
