Artist Bio
Klaus SchulzeKlaus Schulze first attracted attention as a member of the German progressive rock band,Tangerine Dream. Following the release of their debut LP, "Electronic Meditation" he departed for a solo career. Klaus' recorded work typically features extended pieces sometimes filling an entire album built around computer-generated synthesizers and other specially programmed electronic effects.Klaus Schulze remains a cult figure in the United States, where the bulk of his prolific output has until now been available only through the import bins. He is widely considered an avant-garde mainstay as well as a founding father of both the new-age space music and electronica genres.Inside Out Music will be reissuing four titles by Schulze, starting in February of 2005:Dreams was initially released in 1986 and is composed of strange, dark synth sounds that are unlike anything Klaus has done before. The album starts by painting a scene of barren, oppressive isolation, taking the listener on a visceral journey through a darkened dreamscape.Mirage was initially released in 1977 and is described as a strange pastoral landscape, creating a frozen wonderland with vast shifts in color and texture, rather than the layered melodic and harmonic structures of his previous albums.Le Moulin De Daudet is the score for the new French film adapted from the writings of Alphonse Daudet, featuring 22 songs plus a 15-minute bonus track.X was previously released in September 1978 and is dedicated to a handful of greats, including Nietzsche, Trakl and Bach. This is Schulze's tenth album, and was released on his first German tour. This title made it clear to the world that Schulze was the master of the synthesizer, topping the avant-garde league of German rock music.
