I got what I wanted
I researched projectors in depth this past August and September after moving into a new home with a large open living room. I previously purchased a ~$300 projector on ebay with no name brand which claimed to serve up to 1080p, which was okay 10' away, but couldn't serve my desire for a true theatre experience. This epson machine is the real deal. together with my sony home theatre system, I have created an experience that makes my friends drool. I have less than 30 hrs on this thing though the color straight out of the box was rich and full. I am projecting onto an elite screen 150" diagonal from ~19' away. The setup was a synch. Literally plug and play. The zoom, focus and hor/vert adjustments are very user friendly. The only drawback, which I knew going into this, is that viewing during full sun is poor. But I have windows up to 12' high in the SE facing room. My solution is simple. Don't veg out on nice days! With my window mesh pulled down on a rainy day it is okay, still not the best. I don't think you can get more bang for the buck. I mostly compared to the Optimum and ended up expanding my budget for this machine. I also want to note that the size is not an issue for me. A product of this quality deserves to have such girth. I highly recommend this product. Buy.com had the best price and shipping was a day early. I'm happy.
