A touching account of our militarys' sacrifice an
I was profoundly moved by this book. I'm the sister of an active-duty Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps who served in Iraq. I felt compelled to read this book based on an excerpt in a magazine called 'the Week'. To comprehend the loss these families deal with is unimaginable. This book is a window inside that world. My deepest respect goes to Major Beck for being entrusted with the duty of notification. His compassionate thoughts and sentiments towards these families is what I consider traits of a truly honorable man. This book should be read by every blue-blooded American who has a love of country and a strong sense of the sacrifice given by our military to protect our freedoms that we take for granted in this country everyday.
