Network setup a pain and poor design
Network setup is a real pain in the neck with this camera. I've installed dozens of IP cams from 5 different brands before and none gave me so many problems just trying to get it to show up on the network. First of all, the software works when it feels like it, depending on what you're running on your Windows PC. Second, to upgrade firmware was a 4 or 5 step process, because you can't upgrade to the latest until you've upgraded one version up and then another version up, and then the latest. To top it off, cables coming out of this thing are thicker and more numerous than a plate of fettucine. For a wireless outdoor cam, that's ridiculous. And last but not least, cables, including power cable, are so short, you might as well get no cable at all. Next time Foscam, why don't you make them even shorter, like 2 inches long while you're at it.
