This is the best memoir of Germany in WWII that I have ever read. I must say that a lot of it must be fiction as I am about the same age as Mr. Gehlen and I can't remember the details of my life to that degree when I was the same age as he is when the events he so vividly describes in the book take place. But I don't doubt that the events took place just that the conversations are 100% verbatim and the exact details occurred as he recounts. I wish he would write a book about the period of time after the war includimg hos stint in the Foreign Legion.
