Great set but misleading description... Not all DT

on 9/11/2008

I purchased this set because it listed DTS sound in the audio but only ONE movie is in DTS and it's the 3rd one. I already had these movies but bought this thinking all three movies were in DTS sound which makes a big difference to me. Since they weren't any better than the versions I already had I sold them to my nephew. It's a good deal tho. $20 for all three in a nice gift package. So if you don't have them already I would recommend this.

Great way to get all three

The first Jurassic Park movie is quite a bit better than the other two. That said, you will want to watch them if you really like the first one. A great story based on the novel Michael Crichton, we witness the collision of dinosaurs and man. Dinosaurs have fascinated us for over a century now, and what a way to see them.

Product Overview

Rediscover Stephen Spielberg's spectacular cinematic experience, JURASSIC PARK, and the heart-stopping sequels THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK and JURASSIC PARK III in this all-new 3-disc special collection.

JURASSIC PARK: Director Steven Spielberg presents a triumph of imagination, suspense, science and cinematic magic that remains one of the most successful and compelling films in worldwide box office history. Featuring incredible special effects and action-packed drama, Jurassic Park takes you to a remote island where an amazing theme park with living dinosaurs is about to turn deadly, as five people must battle to survive amongst prehistoric predators. Based on Michael Crichton's best-selling novel, Jurassic Park takes you on a breathtaking adventure you'll want to experience again and again.

THE LOST WORLD: Director Steven Spielberg takes us back to the disaster at Jurassic Park in The Lost World, the blockbuster sequel with even more dinosaurs, more action and more visual effects than the first record-breaking film. On a nearby island, dinosaurs have secretly survived and been allowed to roam free but now there is a more ominous threat--a plan to capture and bring the dinosaurs to the mainland. Two groups confront each other in the face of extreme danger and must team up for their own survival in a race against time that will determine the fate of the remote island's prehistoric inhabitants. This classic film will leave you on the edge of your seat...again!

JURASSIC PARK III: Anxious to fund research for his new theory of velociraptor intelligence, renowned paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) is persuaded by a wealthy adventurer (William H. Macy) and his wife (Tea Leoni) to accompany them on an aerial tour of Isla Sorna. This infamous island, once InGen's site B, has become both a primordial breeding ground for John Hammond's magnificent creations and a magnet for thrill-seekers eager to encounter them. When a tragic accident maroons the party of seven, Grant discovers the true reason his deceptive hosts have invited him along. In their perilous attempt to escape with their lives, the dwindling group encounters terrifying new creatures undisclosed by InGen, and Grant is forced to learn the dreadful implications of his raptor intelligence theory firsthand--they are smarter, faster, fiercer and more brutal than he ever imagined.

Review [I] ...the dinosaurs look so real that I half expected to see "dinosaur trainer" during the closing credits... [viewers] can't help being drawn into the pulse-pounding exhilaration of the chase...

Review [II] of the first film won't be disappointed by the sequel... Much of the fun (and there's alot of it) relies on gory black humor... Film buffs will get a kick out of the many in-jokes Spielberg and screenwriter David Koepp has tossed in, including homages to the original King Kong... it is pure Spielbergian fantasy... [it] may just be the perfect Saturday afternoon summer movie.

Review [I] A heart-pounding pace and a zoo parade of pre-historic behemoths power Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park, a hallzapopping tour of the land that time almost forgot... it's a cinematic landmark... dino-mite.

Review [III] This movie does a good job of doing exactly what it wants to do. ...I am aware that Jurassic Park III is shorter, cheaper and with fewer pretensions than its predecessors, and yet there was nothing I disliked about it, and a lot of admire in its lean, efficient story telling. I can't praise it for its art, but I must not neglect its craft, and on that basis I recommend it.
