First Person Account

by Jane on 2/4/2009

It is fascinating to read this first hand account written by Anas Todkill who actually lived on Jamestowne Island and in Jamestown Fort with the better known colonists of the early 1600s. It is almost as real as watching a digi-camcorder set up over Jamestown Island 400 years ago only with first hand interpretation of the events and activities. Anas KNEW and explored with Capt John Smith! He KNEW and talked with Pocahontas and witnessed her relationship with Capt Smith. He met and watched John Rolfe as he came into the life of Pocahontas, married her and Anas SAW their son Thomas! His focus is on recording what he knows of Pocahontas, however, his history is written at least a few years after the events occurred as he does record her death in this history. Read and be surprised at the first hand report of her particular manner of speech. Jane, A Pocahontas descendant......9th great granddaughter
