This kit is great because it give you access to places you never would have though you could get signal. I've purchases other netgear powerline accessories and if you don't want to wire your whole house with RJ45 cable or can't afford it then this would be a good alternative. It says 500 Mbps but good luck getting that much. I've tested two of these pluged into an outlet right next to each other and I have yet to get over 200 Mbps. This might be due to wiring though. Still that is more than enough for most people and much better stability than wifi.
