Simply the very best epic fantasy
I've read through Brooks and Goodkind. While I can't wait for the next George R. R. Martin release I know it will pale in comparison to Robin Hobb's "Farseer Trilogy". The 'Assassin' books are simply wonderful. A full epic in just three books. No more 5, 6, 12 or more redundant tomes before you reach a conclusion. A delightful journey by a highly skilled, knowledgeable and talented writer who has a unique imagination that comes across as totally realistic and highly believable. You can "see" the characters. A page turner throughout. You'll experience emotions that a book, especially an epic fantasy, very rarely elicits. (Several time I had to stop reading just to gather myself). By the end of book 3 not only do you feel totally satisfied but you get the added bonus, if you choose (and you will), to take the adventures of Fitz and the Fool even further with the follow-up "Tawney Man Trilogy". A complete story by itself but best read after the three Assassin (Farseer)books. It just keeps getting better and better.
