Suspenseful

by Jennifer on 9/20/2006

While we all know what happens, it's interesting to see it from the flight control tower and their point of view. I also feel that it made the passengers of Flight 93 seem more like heroes. You couldn't help but feel proud of them. They made a choice to stand up & do something rather than sit & wait to die. Very sad but also informative. Excellent movie.

Review "Taut, visceral and predictably gut-wrenching, ""United 93,"" Paul Greengrass' already much-debated look at Sept. 11, trades in some emotional impact for authenticity, capturing the overwhelming sense of chaos surrounding that day's harrowing events. The result is a tense, documentary-style drama that methodically builds a sense of dread despite the preordained outcome. While media attention has focused on reaction to the movie's trailer, strong ratings for earlier Flight 93 TV projects suggest there will be considerable curiosity, morbid or otherwise, about ""United 93"" that should translate into robust box office."

Review "There are those who believe this movie should not be released, that it is ""too soon."" I will admit to having believed there was merit to this position - until I saw Paul Greengrass' vision brought to the screen. United 93 is its own most compelling defender. There's not a whiff of exploitation to be found. This is an honest, fact-based account that exists for two reasons: to assure that we do not forget the events of that day and to remind us that amidst all the horror and tragedy, there was still room for heroism. If not for the actions of the doomed passengers of United Flight 93, the United States might not have a Capitol Building."
