"This guitar, a Keith Merrow signature model, is ready to prove that it's worthy of rock-star status. As always, Schecter has selected the best tonewoods and components to build something greater than the sum of its parts. Construction and Build Dense and resonant, swamp ash was the material of choice for this guitar body. The hardwood provides a rich multi-layered sound and produces excellent tone up and down the scale. Schecter then opted for a 3-piece maple neck assembly with carbon fiber reinforcement rods, which lends stiffness and snap to the guitar's playing style while keeping things lightweight. A neck with the right factors ofstiffness and warp resistance will mitigate dead spots on the fretboard and provide great string action whether you're playing high or low, slow or fast. A set-neck design adds further stiffness to a quality build. Components and Hardware A Sustainiac pickup unit is a standout feature on any electric guitar, but without a doubt this is an instrument loaded with great hardware. The other pickup, at the bridge, is a Seymour Duncan Nazgul, which does a great job of harnessing the sharp attack and wiry tone this guitar is capable of. With active internals powering the Sustainiac, the guitar is also equipped with a rear battery compartment. Other noteworthy parts include Grover precision tuners, on-body controls for volume and tone, a mode switch for the Sustainiac, and a Floyd Rose bridge and nut."
