Armed with fenbendazole, the active ingredient in all Safe-Guard products, Equi-bits pellets control large strongyles, small strongyles, pinworms and ascarids. Safe-Guard Equi-bits are safe for all horses, including foals and pregnant mares. This single-dose treatment makes rotational deworming a breeze! Just combine these palatable pellets with your ration of choice. On deworming day, replace your usual daily ration with an amount equal to the pellets provided in the handy foil pouch. Safe-Guard Equi-bits do the rest. One pouch will treat 1,250 lb. of body weight in one meal. All horses must be eating normally to ensure that each animal consumes an adequate amount of the medicated feed. For a one-day treatment, add Safe-Guard Equi-bits Top Dress Pellets to the daily ration at the rate of 1 lb. for each 1,000 lb. of body weight (5mg/kg fenbendazole). A 1.25-pound container will treat 1,250 lb. of body weight. Feed for one day as above. No prior withdrawal of feed or water is necessary. Regular deworming at intervals of 6 to 8 weeks may be required due to the possibility of reinfection. Ascarid infections are most common in young animals.
